It is IMPORTANT that you check and tighten ALL connections and joins when assembling the shower. 

If the steam pod is not fully tightened to the tub, then steam will escape at the join and this heat will cause damage to the tub leading to severe cracking. There is no cure for this other than to replace the tub base.
